Job Description

  • Data Centre Operations but not limited,
  • Monitor data centre (building and DC infrastructure) services continuously and resolve or action upon any events or issues that occur based on standard policy and protocols
  • Identify and respond to faults on PCFC systems and networks, liaise with 3rd party suppliers and vendors for maintaining datacentre facility and handle escalations through to resolution.
  • Respond to requests for support following agreed procedures including allocating these requests to appropriate teams internally and maintains relevant records.
  • Gather and report service level information to ensure compliance with SLAs as defined by PCFC policy or client agreements, ensure all reports are filed and maintained.
  • Maintain facilities (monitoring and management of air-conditioning, UPS, generators, power usage, running health and safety and housekeeping checks at PCFC POPs).
  • Provide first level of troubleshooting to resolve system and user queries and issues.
  • Execute applications and database shutdown and start-up, ensure shutdown and start-up are successful and escalate to appropriate administrator in case of any issue or error.
  • Service Desk role and responsibility after office hours, weekends and public holidays
  • 24×7 operations, working on shift duties
  • Maintain SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) will help carry out complex routine operations
  • Ensure storage of backup media in fire proof safe and scheduled movement of offsite media maintaining logs for future reference.
  • Restore backup from tape as per schedule to ensure tape health.

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of unit systems, processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

  • Act in accordance and strictly abide by the company IT security policies, procedures and controls specifically related to sharing of information.
  • Act in accordance with the company’s IT Code of Conduct and escalate any instances of violation in a timely manner to guarantee the safe guard of company information and a responsible environment attitude.

  • Abide by the company’s policies and procedures as well as functions within the delegation of authority and boundaries of the department governance frameworks.
  • Frameworks, Boundaries & Decision-Making Authority
  • Functions within the framework and boundaries of PCFC policies as well as overall organizational and Governance framework.
  • Works within the provisions of IT Operations section and in compliance with established processes and procedures.
  • Decisions are taken as per direction and guidance of the Line Manager & Team Lead.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of ITIL policies & procedures
  • Basic understanding of servers, network monitoring concepts and management tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Written and spoken is essential
