The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of digital media. This position is responsible for updating optimizations in the platforms and updating budget changes on a day to day basis to affect performance and increase lead volume which ultimately generates revenue. While this position does not have direct reports, it is expected that the Digital Marketing Strategist will help with mentoring, coaching and training of junior team members.

  • Manages paid search and paid social campaigns, making monetary decisions to affect performance that directly affects the lead generation (revenue)
  • Creates strategy and builds out campaigns. Launches and manages campaigns, reviews performance and makes changes in the platforms on a day in and day out basis
  • Executes digital media campaigns to hit performance targets
  • Performs research to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and growth
  • Performs research and analysis for reporting
  • Plans, forecasts, and provides POV for digital media opportunities
  • Provides analysis and reporting on campaign performance
  • Performs miscellaneous marketing related duties as assigned for continuous improvement of paid media marketing strategies and implementation
  • Mentors Paid Media Specialists and Paid Media Coordinators as needed



  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent / relevant experience
  • 5-7 years’ experience managing paid social/marketing campaigns
  • 3-4 years’ business analysis and data mining experience
  • 1-2 years’ project management experience
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Strong understanding of digital platforms, including paid search, paid social, display, video
  • Strong understanding of paid media optimization techniques and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to execute effective paid social, paid search, display and video campaigns
  • Demonstrated ability to translate data into insights
  • Understanding of proven ad formats
  • Understanding of analytics and media management tools
  • Understanding of digital media trends and current challenges
  • Understanding of retargeting techniques and platforms
  • Understanding of advanced targeting methods
