The Social Media Specialist is responsible for researching, creating, editing, proofreading, and managing content for all marketing pieces. Content writing includes newspaper articles, press releases, newsletters, flyers, brochures, social media, etc.

  • Management and development Social Media Platforms. Handle content planning, scheduling, and posting on all social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram)
  • Develop and execute annual social media calendar
  • Respond to followers and positively engage with audience in a timely and accurate manner
  • Strategical develop and execute engaging social media marketing campaigns
  • Content writing/proofreading for ads, articles, social media, newsletters, brochures, flyers, press releases, etc.


  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Business, or closely related field
  • 1+ years of related work experience
  • Familiarity with multiple social media platforms
  • Experience writing copy and working across teams
  • Professional experience managing social media platforms
  • Familiarity with paid social media campaigns
  • Knowledge and adherence to AP style guidelines
  • Copy writing and editing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with the use of HTML, CSS and Word Press
  • Ability to develop rapport and partnerships with clients within the institution to effectively communicate a message to the intended audience
